C1.R0

Open source device for heat measurement and oxygen saturation monitoring
2020

The pandemic has demonstrated the inadequacy of national health systems, seriously evident in the differences in access to care and in the difficulties in managing hospitals, overloaded by the high number of hospitalized patients. Hence the idea of activating local areas that can be used as clinics recognized by public administrative bodies, organized on a smart healthcare model, can contribute to de-hospitalizing the system, making the health infrastructure more sustainable, inclusive, democratic and capillary.

The spaces dedicated to digital fabrication will be set up with 3D printers and scanners and will allow the creation of different types of medical devices, prostheses, braces and consumables, customized on the requests and needs of each user. C1.R0 will be distributed free of charge to users and shared online, to encourage open innovation processes, on platforms such as Thingverse and GitHub. The figures involved will be designers, bio-medical and technical engineers, who can be hired or work as volunteers.

The activation of this blockchain-based ecosystem will depend on collaboration with the current public health system, which will be required to ensure its decentralized and closed structure, to be sure that the data is not accessible to anyone. They will therefore be certified bodies to allow access to the network to a user.

They will integrate, internally, environments dedicated to digital fabrication and immersive and virtual therapies, as well as to accommodate the more traditional instruments of a common medical clinic. Doctors will also be enabled to monitor patients in real time through dedicated applications.
