A clean and affordable light system that purifies subway air.

Air Light is a lighting system for subway platforms in Milan. The purpose of the project is to enligth the subway quay in a stategic way covering specific areas and, at the same time, purify contaminated air, dirty due to volatile substances released by trains.
When the paint is properly illuminated by LED, it activates a photocatalytic process that oxidise contaminants and make them helpless. This reaction is able to purify up to 1 m³ of air in less than one minute.
